I'm with you guys. I've got a box of checks from 3 addresses ago (8 yrs?) that will take another year at least to use up. The card that returns a % to me in cash usually covers Christmas, and every other year (roughly) we turn in the American Express points for a free week at a Hilton property. I had some difficulty adjusting to trading index futures where the trade routinely goes against you hundreds of dollars in minutes (sometimes seconds) and it's important to view that with equanimity, while my real personality still picks up pennies. It's not about the pennies, but a 'waste not want not' mind set.

>>One young man in his 20s was so accustomed to looking up phone numbers and addresses online that he was puzzled by a simple phone book. He didn't know how to "work it."<<

I'm not surprised. My young neighbor got locked out of her house and came over to use my phone, and I had to show her how to use the phone book! :0)
