"the American name was respected thoughout the world"

It was so feared that there was no way some islamic imperialists would dare to make their way to America and hihack several airlines and attempt to fly them into buildings. Except that America was the laughingstock of the world seven years ago. We were neither feared not respected. America was correctly perceived as a doormat that asceeded to whatever demands were placed by other foreign powers.

The first attack on the WTC came after the first Gulf war. The second attack came after the establishment of military bases in Saudia Arabia. In fact, that was bin Laden's major complaint; that Mecca had been defiled.

"China is becoming a world economic power. "

Are you suggesting that if we just had another perjurer in the Whitehouse that we could have prevented this? If you really believe this you are an idiot. Demographics dictate that China will continue to grow as an economic force.

Of course not but we wouldn't be falling further and further behind like we are now.

if we imagine what the world would look like today if Saddam Hussein had not been deposed, it seems clear that almost no outcome in Iraq would be as adverse to the interests of the United States as today's world with Saddam still in power.

Huh? We had the longest peacetime expansion in history while Saddam reigned in Iraq. Crime was done, more people were off welfare, things worked.
