Or maybe he's just senile, and should have been eased out of office much sooner.

Here in the USA we have hordes of "free lunch", "deficits don't matter", "borrow your way to prosperity" folks at all levels. Many culprits indeed.

Fiat money inflation is just taxation by another name. Don't get too worked up about it. It's even quite efficient as there's no paperwork needed - the annual ticket clipping is done without people feeling anyone touch their wallet. No forms to fill in. No tax evasion charges. No accountancy fees needed to file tax returns.

The USA is even enjoying a phenomenal profit centre because a lot of people around the world use the US$ and pay taxes each year through dilution of their holdings. Uncle Al and Uncle Sam had a great game going. And still have. Heck, even I have some US$ in a stash - which I must move out of there soon.
