Oddly enough, I was born Catholic and went to Catholic school through fifth grade (alter boy, all that cr*p), and then converted to Judaism, not out of any conviction, but to try to ease family strife regarding my first marriage (didn't work). Anyway, what I did get out of that is that they really are the same religion. The service is the same. The guilt is the same. Slightly different accents and syntax, New York vs Ireland. The theological differences are mostly 'head of a pin' type things. The practical workings are the same. IMO.

Off to dinner.
