Broken Clock,

It doesn't shock me that Alan Greenspan chose to focus on oil security as the primary reason for the war and to not get involved with the pro-Israel political forces that also played a part.

It rarely does anyone in public life much good to suggest that people like Richard Pearle should probably be strung up for treason.

IMO, R.P. believes that Israeli and the US foreign policy is joined at the hip. While it's clear the two countries have some mutual interests, it's also clear that our friendship has huge costs to the U.S.

IMO, people like Pearle's should not be in a position to have much influence over U.S. foreign policy for the same reasons we wouldn't want people with some loyalty to Iran making foreign policy decisions about the Middle East. The "dual loyalty" tag is hot place to go in public life, but if you are honest person with even a touch of integrity, it's clear that there are people like that that have been too close to the President.
