So, you advocate the cops using a bomb to remove a nuisance from a dense neighborhood? Well, they could have had a wing of B-52's fly over and unload. :-) wasn't there, but I can think of a number of less violent means of removing a public nuisance, such as arresting the people when they come out for whatever reason, shutting off the electricity and water, or even using tear gas if the nuisance was of sufficient disruption to the community. Shades of Waco! Shades of the criticism, too. Good thing McVeigh's been executed. You seem very quick to blame the police for unforseeable consequences. As far as I know, the US is the ONLY country with a posse comitatus law, ragged as it is now. In other countries, the military and their weapons can be used fully legally to enforce civil law.
