You're right! Kidnapping the competition, taking their money, and locking them in a room (at the taxpayers expense) for 25 years is a lot more civilized than a cap at the base of the neck. It also takes away the poor victim's right to beat the rap on a technicality or find God while waiting for trial. Why do you think these wiseguys and their families are never the victim of break-ins, rapes, or muggings? Call me a cynic, but I learned one thing a looong time ago: If you want justice, go to a whorehouse. If you want to get screwed, go to court.
