Easier said than done. I was never in a situation like that, so I don't know how I would respond. If people think they will all die if they try anything, thats why they listen to the hostage takers orders.

We have been teaching our young for the last 20 years that any fighting for any reason is wrong and not tolerated. There is no acceptable reason for violence. Sadly that is why we have students hiding under desks waiting to be shot rather then doing anything proactive IMO.
