This idiot and her mother apparently didn't grasp, in all the time it takes to apply for Annapolis (years), that it's run by the Navy and you'll be in the military. She also doesn't give her brother any credit for understanding what he's signed up for unitl the end of the article, when she says she must "allow him" to pursue whatever path he is drawn toward, and he has "admitted" ..that he feels called to being there. (My quotes) And she calls her article "The Truth about the Academies". Only in Academentia.

"you follow your orders"

Heavy construction has a similar atmosphere, although it is less rank driven. You get used to reacting to a 'command' tone of voice because you might lose some body parts if you don't. Around the house when Janet and I are doing some project together I have to watch that, as she can take offense. I try not to put either of us in situations where body parts are at stake, but sometimes it's important.
