I want somebody who really knows Israel and cares about its future to take the lead -- I was really hoping that might be you. Why not?

Because I am no expert to lay out a thesis in a vacuum. I can debate points on the thread, but the debate will be driven by what kind of points they are.

To take an American example: if somebody says that he likes Bush's immigration bill, but doesn't like his tax cuts, I can point out that the results of the tax cuts has been to sharply increase Federal revenues, so sharply that the deficit is going down despite uncontrolled spending, but the immigration bill is dead on arrival with Republican congressmen.

However, if somebody says that 9/11 was an inside job and Bush invaded Iraq to steal all the oil for Haliburton, there is no sensible reply because the comment was moonbattery in the first place. Anybody who believes that is basically immune to any evidence to the contrary I would bring up.

The starting premises of the discussion prevent a sensible debate about the pros and cons of Bush's presidency.
