"democrat filibusters" Nice try....the highway bill, farm bills, pork-laden home projects and Medicare Part D (unfunded Drug Plan) were all the work of the Republicans, from Committee to final vote. The only issue the Democrats made any noise on was Social Security...and the Republicans didn't enact even the simplest reform, much less the partial privatizing they and the President were so hot on. No, don't blame the democrats for the republican refusal to hold spending in line...and don't forget the powerful weapon the President refused to use at any time..the veto.
