i'm pretty happy with Preview. it's silly that Windows doesn't have something like that foxit product built in (as i recall i used that product or one like it for a little while until i left Windows completely).

but there are some things which require Adobe. one of the investment letters i subscribe to uses a secure PDF format that basically embeds a virtual dongle into your copy of Adobe Reader. their PDF files can only be opened on the particular machine which has the virtual dongle in its Adobe Reader (preventing you from opening the file on multiple machines, and preventing anyone without a virtual dongle from opening the file). that is the only thing i use Adobe Reader for now.

Flash -

Foxit may be nice, but Preview on OS X is so fast it's practically miraculous. Even the largest PDFs load in no time at all. Amazing, really.
