I tend to invest intuitively, so am aware of the process you reference. I try to take in the general info about a company and then let a process I call 'ruminating' pop out with an answer. I've found this is much more successful for me than all the other 'hard' analysis methods which tend to leave me unable to make a decision. I get hung up in the 'on the one hand, on the other hand' situation.

In fact, a lot of my sensitivity to this subject is my dissatisfaction with the Fed recently. I don't care one way or the other if they raise or lower, but what I did object to was a lot of public posturing about not bailing out housing speculators and within days doing exactly that, in the first case on options expiration day, timed to do the absolute most damage possible to those who had positioned themselves opposite those speculators. I had no dog in that fight, and am personally better off as a result of the recent moves, but I still was put off by how it was done. No big deal. I'm just a mushroom. They keep me in the dark and feed me sh*t.
