Maybe the near end game is 'shock and awe' treatment of IRAN to let world know there is a new Gengis Kahn (s?) 'on the block' and you had better toe the US $ line or...you will be on the Imperial bogyman list.

I think they cut slowly until they get a sense housing inventory and foreclosure filings have stabilized at lower levels.. Must grow out of and debase the debts at all costs plus give financial institutions enough of a net interest margin after reserves to make a profit and continue lending.. If the dollar gets sacrificed a bit and long term rates go up so be it..
