You were lucky there was enough room on the shoulder of the road. Was it I-95? A NC couple slid off 95 on ice early one morning last winter(no witnesses), unfortunately they landed in a deep swamp area and the car wasn't found for weeks. You must have quick reflexes to react so swiftly under those circumstances. I hate tractor trailers and our major highways are absolutely overwhelmed with them every day except Sunday...the joys of Chinese imports.
