re: I think it worked. The war ended. It just took longer than ANYONE could have imagined it would, just like this one. Wars seem to be much easier to start than to end. It's like the difference between cutting and raising taxes.

I actually think it took longer for "the majority" to turn against Vietnam than it has for Iraq. And that does spell the end of the war... I think more than the protests. But the protests, if they are big enough, at least get people thinking.

But you sure are right about wars being easier to start than end. As much as I was against this war I had no inclining tat it would be this much of a catastrophe heading into the 5th anniversary.
