I don't think the US has keeping Taiwan separate as a policy principle.

If you had to chose between living in part of the Russian Empire, the French Empire, British, Dutch, Spanish, Belgian or Ottoman, I bet Russian would not be your first choice ;-)

Looks like the Soviet Empire is mostly gone. Maybe they get to pull a few pieces back in.

The Russian were jerks, and evil. Just ask the Poles, Hungarians, Estonians, etc.

The Rus people : Soon to be an important Chinese minority group ;-) (At least East of the Urals)

Your Japan friends have been buying USD for years trying to keep the USD higher and the Yen lower than equilibrium, so as to have trade advantages.

Let's see what happens as things move to equilibrium.
