OK i understand your point about iran being less radical than many of the sunni islamic states. That wasnt my point though. This regime seems preoccupied with the middle east since their revolution and particularly since the iran/iraq war. The israel/pal issue was never a big deal for them before but since it curries favor in the arab world, iran went that route post revolution. It seems to me that the religious objects of islam are mostly all in arab world and thats why this regime mught be so preoccupied when real interests may lie elsewhere. In geopolitical terms they seem to be creating buffers between themselves and sunni arabs using proxies in other nations. To sunni arabs this looks less self defense and more like a form of imperialism. If i were a sunni arab, thats the way it would look to me too. One would think that after the US took care of saddam, the iranians might have other things to concentrate on. Or do you disagree that there real interests lie elsewhere and in peace with neighbors and the US and sort of benign neglect for what goes on in arab world??

Iran doesn't have a radical Islamic state.

Indeed they do. What they lack is a radical Islamic population, which makes the government very unpopular. It's the government of a small minority.
