I agree about energy and food.

I am now accumulating DBC and DBA to get into soft commodities because, guess what?, as BRIC develops, the emerging middle classes will want better swill, er, food. The demand for food will intensify, people will get bigger and fatter, lazier, and then I'll switch to healthcare because they will demand medical care for diabetes, heart disease, and all of the other ailments which come with prosperity and obesity. This is my latest 25 year plan, but you must admit it makes sense.

Also wating for black gold refiners to do their predictable cyclical swoon and will thereupon immediately accumulate stars such as VLO and MRO. In the meantime, the Canadians have unexpectedly handed us a bonus by taking steps, weak as they may be and subject to substantial political negotiation as they are, to increase taxation on the lovely oil sands thus handing us discounted share prices which need to be acted upon toot sweet. This discount will not last long so take advantage of the Blue Light Special.

I like black gold in the ground, no matter the form. Better than the yellow and rose variations at whose altar you worship because it is necessary, useful, and becoming increasingly rare. Not that I didn't buy a tiny bit of the blood drenched Barbaridad Azteca about a month ago, a purchase which has been very, very good to me.
