Wayne, Actually, huge portions of Europe has just been regained as democracies, not lost. BTW, I don't think spreading democracy is our duty or even to our advantage. Democracies don't get along any better than do dictatorships. And, in fact, the democracy known as The U.S.A is one of the leading destabilizers of world peace. And has been since Crazy Ronnie was Prez.

Why do we lose every election held in The Middle East? Because we invade them at the drop of the hat, bomb them and generally treat sovereign nations as disruly puppets. We learned how to do that in Latin America. They really love us there.

Anti American forces taking over these states is inevitable, given our history with them. But we trade with lots of anti American govts. BTW, when violent radicals take over a govt., the first thing they do is wipe out the other violent radical groups. Nazis wiped out the Commies. There was no Al Qaida threat in Iraq under violent Saddam.
