Doesn't iTunes limit the use of purchased music, videos, movies, etc, to three computers?

Allen, that's pretty much the nut of my question. If my files are in WMA format, is there any way to convert them to Apple's format? I read an article citing iPod user's frustrations they were not able to get their music onto the iPod. If I can't convert the songs, it's no big deal since I have the CD's to download on her MAC.
