Ahmadinejad sends fighters into Iraq who've killed US soldiers. That's reason enough to not allow him beyond the UN. Columbia's invitation in effect pays tribute to a religious fanatic who denies the holocaust ever happened, & has stated he will eliminate Israel.

Hsu Left a Bitter Legacy in Hong Kong

By KEITH BRADSHER
Published: September 23, 2007
HONG KONG, Sept. 20 — Long before Norman Hsu became a controversial figure in American political fund-raising, he had a tangled history of business dealings in Hong Kong with friends and investors who remain bitter about him.

A former university friend describes Mr. Hsu as having taken money in the 1980s for an apartment building investment and an American distribution company, and then failing to return the money or account for it.

Another former friend said that Mr. Hsu had lavishly spent the money of two other distribution companies, and one creditor pursued Mr. Hsu for years through the bankruptcy courts.

Mr. Hsu has left a trail of disillusioned investors stretching across more than two decades and two continents. Leaving angry investors behind in Hong Kong in the late 1980s, he went to California, where he ended up being convicted of corporate theft in 1992 but disappeared before his sentencing; his lawyer now wants the conviction expunged.

Kenneth, how do you square this against the decision by Columbia to un-invite the founder of the Minutemen? How do you square this with Columbia's refusal to allow the ROTC on campus?

Too much DNC koolaid for you, Kenneth...

Kenny!!!!

I would agree with you to the extent that a true belief in the concept of "Freedom of Speech" enshrined by the Founders in the First Amendment to the US Constitution means that that Iranian monkey, Ahmadeinejad, should be allowed to speak at Columbia. After all, we are not at war with Iran and he is, for better or for worse, the titular head of a sovereign nation.

However, in a fair accounting of this situation, one must also take note of the stunning hypocrisy of the University in allowing this racist, terror-sponsoring whackjob to speak while denying a similar right to Jim Gilchrist, a Vietnam vet and founder of the Minutenman group. Moreover, the University's stated reason for denying campus access to the ROTC is due to the military's policy regarding gays. Pray tell, do you know what happens to gays in Iran?

The University made the correct choice here but it is not for the highminded reasons they cited. The Administration is a weak-kneed bunch of intellectual sissies caving in to the most PC and radical elements in the student body and faculty on campus.

KENNY!

Should Columbia have invited Adolph Hitler over to speak in 1940? After all, we weren't at war with Germany at the time.

You know, I really think we should allow Ahmadeinejad to visit Ground Zero under the terms has has been offered by the Mayor of NYC: no bodyguard. I have little doubt that the men working down in that pit will come up out out of it and tear him to pieces.

OTOH, we could give him a bodyguard for his entire tour composed solely of Jewish, gay, and lesbian policepersons. :-) How's that sound?

If the UN objects, they are certainly free to leave. I doubt if the celebrations following their departure will be more than a week or two long.

What say you?
