The rightwing lambasted Clinton for attacking Al Qaida in 1998. While Clinton was trying to kill Bin Laden the entire rightwing was focused on trying to embarrass him with his sex life. I'm sure you remember when they laughed at Clinton for "bombing an aspirin factory" (which belonged to Bin LAden and was a chemical factory). The rightwing also let Bush get away with ignoring the warnings pre 9-11 and not create any counter-terrorism force whatsoever.
