Screw freedom, people don't seek freedom,. They like good standard of living. Once they get that standard of living they go for the freedom thing. No person in former USSR wanted freedom. They wanted blue jeans, cars chewing, good cigarettes, holidays, nice houses cafes to take the young ladies… Freedom comes after they’ve got that. It is an aberration to use as an example a regime of exception and transport it to the 21st cetury. We live today in a world of plenty. No need to go invading other peoples countries for what you want... Thus no lack of freedom.
