And they come up with all sorts of stupid charges for which I'm sure there's no law. We used to run around with cap guns and stuff and made actual real bombs for fun. Hoaxes are good fun - not threatening hoaxes to cause fear, but hoaxes in general. There seems to be mass hysteria: <"This is total disregard for the situation; this is an airport, post-9/11," Assistant Suffolk District Attorney Wayne Margolis told an East Boston District Court yesterday during Simpson's arraignment on charges of possessing a hoax device. > My brother was an airline captain and decades ago a passenger made some comment about a bomb to the hostie who reported it to him. He went down the aircraft to evaluate the situation, had a chat with the guy and decided it was just a joke and that was the end of it. It wasn't a threat or anything, just a comment. No need for hysteria. There's no need to go off the deep end because people make light of things. It is illegal to laugh at danger these days. Everyone has to pretend to be morbidly afraid. In fact, the most dangerous thing for people is the wildly enthusiastic megalomaniac "security" people of all sorts. Authoritarians are absolutely loving the "terror" as it gives them carte blanch to go over the top over anything. Look at the English police murdering the Brazilian guy on the train. Osama must think it hilarious how airports around the world are now full of sheeple being herded, taking their shoes off for ever because Richard Reid failed to light his shoes, once upon a time, long long ago. In 1000 years, people will still be taking their shoes off and nobody will know why, but they'll keep doing it. Of course it is a total waste of time because there isn't going to be another knife attack with an aircraft taken over. The 1970s fun trip to Havana was the assumption up until 911, now it's a fight for survival and nobody on an aircraft will get near the cockpit, even if they have a gun. The next attack will be something different. The Twin Towers was the best attack possible like that. A total jackpot for Osama and Islamic Jihad. It's better than they leave that as their crowning achievement and try for polonium 210 in the water supply or or something completely different. If they hijack another aircraft and crash it, everyone will just yawn [other than those directly affected]. Crashing an aircraft into anything else would be minor by comparison. As you say, this is good news. People are making fun of the hysteria. Mqurice
