Didn't I buy your home taped VHS library of popular TV shows and movies at a garage sale this morning?

No, that was my old college roommate, Jackie. I visited him during the late 70's and he had a collection of movies on VHS that covered a wall. They were all very well indexed in a 3 ring binder. Name a movie, and he could have it in and playing in less that 3 minutes.

The movie and the television industry are still very young. Movie production began relatively early in the 20th century with TV production coming around mid century. The library of material is already huge, and is still growing. Though much of it is not very interesting, the over all volume of programming is so great as to still provide an enormous array of collectable masterpieces. Some I have watched many times. Others only a few. Without people personally classifying and collecting these works, we run the risk of loosing them forever. Try and find copies of the old Amos N Andy television shows. Can you link me to a site where I can purchase the 80's television show "Parker Louis Can't Lose"? Many original shows from the first few years of both television and movies that never went into syndication, were lost forever due to natural or man made disaster, or just plain neglect.

I want to see our heritage of entertainment programming made freely available to all for viewing and archival storage. The hard drive, and its digital successors are the way to make this possible. We're doing it with music. Why not with video as well?
