There's a TV program on the BBC right now as I type about the credit crunch -- just watch that -- I have BBC on 37 on Rogers Cable but you may have it somewhere else (or on a satellite channel)

1929: Market goes up a bunch, and then corrects violently.
1930: Market tries to rally but fades badly later in the year.
Some bonds default.
1931: Credit continues scarce. Markets suck. More bonds default, including many municipal and sovereign issues.
1932: Stocks bottom out and rally nicely. Economy sucks. Even more debt defaults, but at a lesser rate.
1933: Dead duck Hoover still in White House first 2+ months and nothing much happens. Roosevelt finally rearranges things. Gold does well.
