OT The Social Security contract has been under continuous revision. So change is what we should all expect. The terms for that contract have changed from pretty stingy to very generous to a bit less generous as the years went by. People that are now retired are receiving extremely generous benefits relatively to what they contributed; and the older they are, the more generous the benefits. Indexing retirement age to life expectancy will solve the Social Security funding problem permanently, and it's the obvious thing to do, IMO.
