My brothers a staunch Republican who lives in Ohio. He thinks the Dems are a shoo-in there in 2008.

Democrats win in 2008, but Republicans win in 2012. Democrats need to make all the tough decisions, and will be punished in 2012 as a result.

I think that's basically right, depending on when the S hits the fan. I suspect Hillary wins, then the GOP takes Congress in 2010.

As to Michigan, the Dem governor is taking a lot of heat. The GOP did a lot better in Michigan than elsewhere in 2006 for that reason.
