what on earth are you talking about?
Prior to Paulson, we had John Snow, undoubtedly one of the dumbest treasury secretaries, along with Elaine Chao and Robert Evans in trade, constantly surprised by government figures, no comprehension as to why "the public" didn't think the US economy was GREAT.

What are you griping about?

I have paid into the SS system all my life and will get out............ nothing. I am in favor of raising the SS age just to save the pathetic program. Otherwise just let it die, now sooner than later thanks very much. The current retirees have a gravy train thanks to the boondoggle and their AARP lobby.

And BTW if we are going to provide free healthcare for a group of people it should be CHILDREN and not the elderly.

'Now that Paulson/Bernanke have unleashed rampant inflation you think it's advisable to squeeze SS? Talk about disconnect from the reality of most retirees.'

How did they unleash rampant inflation in just the past year? The huge deficits of this administration and Congress plus Greenspan keeping rates at 1% along with the spread of US consumerism worldwide this cycle are what caused this.
