To be correct you would need to say I favor school discipline but not the striking of children. I do not see the two things as identical.

I see the drug issue as essentially libertarian- but left leaning libertarian. I think the right to privacy, which gives us the right to control our fertility, must also allow us to choose what drugs we use, including cigarettes, what we eat, and all the other things we do at home with our bodies.

That's really not about destroying society, but about personal liberty. I value personal choice highly, and thus I tolerate all the personal choices people make- including smoking- as long as it isn't in my personal face, choking up my personal air. By "tolerate" I do not mean "encourage". I see no point in trying to run the lives of other adults when it comes to recreational drug use, cigarettes, food, sex, or any other personal habits- when those habits are not in someone else's face.

And I would actually be sad if your children were born gay (that "turning" thing is just too weird)- because with the way you feel about gay people, they would obviously have problems fitting in to your family. I don't see being born gay as a "victory" for the left. I see greater toleration as a victory for the left. I'm sorry you don't appreciate the difference. There is a difference there, even if you do not appreciate it. It would be nice if you could fixate on some other leftist for a while. Surely there is one out there who would welcome your interest and attention?

You first mistake was in assuming Iktomi or Soup Al are representative of the entire left side of the political spectrum. I stopped reading after that. Sorry. Got things to do.
