Rambi,

Don't get me wrong, I'll all for communication with our enemies which is something I think has been severely limited for years. Just because we don't like someone doesn't mean as a country we shouldn't try to work with those countries. I remember the cold war and how so many were afraid of nuclear war. If it wasn't for the dialogue, working together, and passing of time, who knows what might have happened? However, this presentation by the Iranian leader (notice I'm not trying to spell it either..LOL) at a major college in the United States IMHO was comparable to honoring him and that to me was totally unacceptable.

Lexi

"He was evading, manipulating, lying, condescending, and he was working an audience of very young people, who while very intelligent are still very YOUNG. The applause was so obviously reactive to specific phrases (tolerance, love, peace, one God, blahblah). I believe our young people are raised to respect others, and that can be-- and was today-- abused. "

That approach to interview questions is standard op procedure. Aside from the clear faux paus on gays he dodged and weaved. Sorta like politicians - eg Hillary on Sunday.

Thanks Rambi...Splendid post! Wish I could give you more than one Recommend.... I felt the exact same way, but did watch nearly the whole thing.

He nattered on so much about his view of religion, I found myself wondering if that weren't a signal of some sort. The part about the purity, etc. Every time we see a stoning, or a suicide bomber, especially a child, we can think of that creep and his ideas of purity.

I feel sorry for our Secret Service guys having to guard such a miserable excuse for a human.
