Biofuels are a dead-end in my opinion. It takes more fossil fuels to create a gallon of biofuel, than it saves from making and burning gasoline. So it does nothing for us. About the only thing it does, is help us get oil independent, which is a good thing.

The logical conclusion of anyone studying this field is either to go electric or to use hydrogen. Hydrogen is still to expensive a technology, but the electrical infrastructure already exists and the technology up and down the supply and demand chain already exists as well. Nuclear, solar, wind, etc at the source, and all-electric cars and houses at the point of use will get us off the oil, solve our energy problems, be a huge net-benefit economically, and reduce greenhouse gases. It's a no-brainer.
