Gus > Sarkozy's in the same shoes as Silvio Berlusconi back in 2002

Undoubtedly, and he will make the same mistake as Berlusconi did in believing that war will help his economy. As I see it, there are two reasons (and probably more) why this is so

1. The French economy, like the Italian one before it, is maximally "stimulated" from an increased money supply. Therefore all war will do is create more inflation.

2. The threat to French industry, and the consequent downturn in the French economy, has nothing to do with the country France intends to go to war with, Iran. As you well know, it is the various countries of Asia which have taken away French competitiveness. Indeed, by France making war with Iran, paradoxically it will develop the industries of those countries which were the reason for the demise of the French ones in the first place.

It's also interesting to see how the US has also fallen into the delusionary trap that war is good for the economy. Indeed, it is war (besides unbridled domestic consumption) that is the cause of most US indebtedness to foreigners.
