Al Gore is a sensationalist. I credit him with using the hype machine to accomplish something good. But if you want the real story, you have to read up on what the global scientific community is saying. That is what changed my mind. But you know why I started getting interested, as a Republican? It was shortly after 9/11 and I was thinking about how best to ultimately win the war against those idiot Muslim fanatics. And it hit my by degrees that the best way to win the war is through economics. We have to starve their funding...and that means getting off the oil, once and for all. That became the biggest reason why I'm for getting off the oil. It just so happens that I'm broad-minded and I see that getting off the oil can be a win for the economy and the environmentalists as well. It truly is one of those times when everyone can win. It's a natural alliance with the goal of getting off the oil. Only a few very small minded people with no vision think we shouldn't attempt to accomplish this easily achievable and hugely beneficial goal.
