VERY GOOD to have that question. (Not that any of this current crop of bozos - other then Paul - would likely have to guts to support it. :-(

So, no, I think your conclusion is wrong.

Asking the candidates if they do or don't support a Constitutional amendment for a balanced budget establishes a clear delineation among them --- showing who is *truly* for smaller government and who is just flapping their gums.

(Just asking people if they are 'for' balanced budgets though, without asking about the mechanism to provide that, would be a bit like asking if they are 'for' Mom and apple pie.... Ya gotta get specific: B.B.C.A., PAYGO rules, 'no tax' pledges, etc., otherwise all you get is agreeable mush.)
