The utilities don't sound out of line to me, given what we paid. The mortgage sounds funnier now that I've done some digging. I found the house on Google Map and it looks like a modest colonial on a 50 x150 lot. However, according to one property report, the last sale price was $115,000. They've owned the house for at least 17 years, because that's when they put in the pool. A $1500 mortgage on a $115,000 house they've had for more than 17 years? They DO need Suze Orman.
