I would think that you are possibly correct in the very short-term... but definitely incorrect for the long-term opportunity. (With the demographic curves for Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians in the US being what they are, I'd say that Bush and Rove [& Rudy & McCain...] had it EXACTLY RIGHT: Lose that electoral opportunity and the Party loses the future for several generations, and becomes a perennial minority party.)
