Obviously, that's a threat to Assad & Co, not a threat to "wipe Syria off the map". They are saying they would go to war and destroy the regime, which is a minority Alawite regime to start with. No Israeli would ever talk about wiping Syria off the map. Israel has always accepted Syria's existence. But Syria has never accepted Israel's.
