This isn't a dam failure its a crack.

Sooner or later Apple will lose its control over the personal player market just like Sony lost it. The question is how long they can keep it.

Habits and conveniences last only long enough for the consumer to get off his butt and try the competition and as I've said zillions already have an account with Amazon. No forms to fill out no credit cards to hassle with. They are already customers.

This is bad news but not something to panic over.

I don't think people are going to rush out to buy the competition but its one less reason to buy an iPod and one more to consider the competition.

Personally I'm not thrilled with my iPod. Its merely "OK."
