The trial was motivated by anti-terrorism politics. The conviction is listed among the Bush administration's successes in fighting terrorism. The prosecutor's mandate was to help shut down any possible financial aid to terrorism. Elgindy made an ideal candidate for a show of that.

The U.S. put its own citizens in concentration camps during WW2 if they were of Japanese descent. I understand why these things are done, but it doesn't inform us of anything but that the nation is trying to protect itself.

My opinions.

SECteacher...Kevin has a jaded opinion on the Elgindy trial. The case and all else was a big conspiracy - the US against this guy named Elgindy. The trading records, documented excerpts from the web site, the conviction of Royer, it was all a ruse to get to Elgindy.

Funny how the site harbored many known criminals (I am sure you all worship mob linked John Fiero) and on several cases evidence illustrating how Elgindy would write on the message board about the information being illegal information and not to tell anyone is accepted behavior for Kevin.
