do you notice any noise when using 360 for video playback? i tried playing a DVD in it once and it was unacceptably loud. i think even with DVD player not operating it is rather loud. what is your experience there?

I doubt I'll have any loyalty though, if both Apple and Amazon are offering DRM free music the lowest price will win.

Be careful here-- DRM-free does not equal interoperable in all cases. The DRM-free AAC files from iTunes still may not stream to your 360-- it won't play in WMP, and I think that's where the 360 get's its codecs.

At one point, in a fit of frustration, I deleted all my iTMS purchases because I was sick of having to remember which songs could or could not play on which gadget. Of course, that doesn't matter as long as you are content with iTunes, iPod/iPhone, and AppleTV.

With video, I'm willing to deal with usage restrictions, because there's no assumption of ownership (especially with a rental). As long as I am fully aware of the restrictions and find them acceptable before hand, I will be happy to pay a rental fee.
