So you agree with me that restrictions on communication are not good and the more open communication we can foster, the better.

A lot was communicated via Columbia and more communication will be generated as a result, much of it incidentally.

The internet isn't the same everywhere, nor are telephones. Iran puts a firewall on the internet (using chinese technology) and phones are insecure. They may not be able to cut off all communication, but they can make it dangerous. They have already shut down all the independent newspapers.
And you know that, because... Are you making things up, again, Nadine? You should talk, you were defending/advocating wiretapping against Americans in America. You are so lame at times Nadine.

Hmmm. Nadine can explain why there are about 75k Farsi bloggers? If as you claim that the internet in Iran is censored.
With an estimated 75,000 blogs, Farsi is now the fourth most popular language for keeping online journals. A phenomenal figure given that in neighbouring countries such as Iraq there are less than 50 known bloggers.

The internet has opened a new virtual space for free speech in a country dubbed the "the biggest prison for journalists in the Middle East", by Reporters sans Frontieres (RSF). Through the anonymity and freedom that weblogs can provide, those who once lacked voices are at last speaking up and discussing issues that have never been aired in any other media in the Islamic world. Where else in Iran could someone dare write, as the blogger Faryadehmah did, "when these mullahs are dethroned ... it will be like the Berlin wall coming down ..."?

Or can you explain how could the bad news go through Chinese firewall?
Iranians Decry Harsh Words for President

The chancellors of seven Iranian universities issued a letter to Bollinger saying his "insult, in a scholarly atmosphere, to the president of a country with ... a recorded history of 7,000 years of civilization and culture is deeply shameful."

They invited Bollinger to Iran, adding, "You can be assured that Iranians are very polite and hospitable toward their guests."...

I do not know Nadine, maybe these people were dreaming all those bad things that their president was facing in the US and are voicing their objections for the treatment of their president based on a dream.
Nadine, you are a fool to think that people will listen to you or believe anything you post. When know you very well, after more than 13,000 posts from you on this thread. You are nothing by a hateful person and a fear monger.
