You almost had me there. Some people use the name iTunes to refer to either the music library application and the online music store, or to both, which leads to confusion.

I try to be careful to use phrases like "iTunes store" or "online music store" when talking about the store. If I just say iTunes, I'm talking about the music library application.

Damn Apple for making life so hard for those of us who like to discuss these things endlessly.
