2 things: scale. extract the last bits of efficiency.

Mercedes will not survive. It is the profits of the trucks that keeps that Marketing operation (luxury carmaking) alive.

I think they give the cars free of charge to the presidents of countries so that they are always photographed and that imporves the image of the company.

GE extract bits of efficiency. Companies big like GE or Siemens, had got a lot of fat. Clever CEO goes there trim the fat and there is efficency to achieve.

Say they spend a ½ billion in airline TKTS just getting that more efficient and there are savings to be achieved. Say there are a few buildings owned by employees and rented to GE by those employees and someone streamline that? More savings.

Say the wives and daughters of the employees have pseudo jobs created for them and they are all sacked, more savings... Say they are using copy machines that costs 50% more than the available just because one director have a sweet deal…

Man you should look to a corporation from the inside...

Boeing: Scale. One would need a Airbus and the Euro treasurt to compete with it. Besides the Exim-Bank is not called the Boeign Bank for nothing….
