Fed Injection of $38 Billion is the Largest Since August 10th
CNBC reports the Fed injected $38 billion into the system this morning. This is the largest injection since August 10th. Ben Bernanke has stated he aims to use alternative monetary policy measures to stimulate the economy. He previously brought up Milton Friedman's "helicopter dropping" example as a way to cure deflation. The reason he's so worried about deflation is that a service economy is less capital intensive and not as responsive to interest rate cuts compared to a manufacturing economy.
