Didn't Bill make a remark about the web akin to the 640k memory prediction along the lines that it will never catch on?

Also, it's just amazing that MS was so resistant to things related to networking.

Macs had built-in networking way way before PCs. Network a PC you needed to go to Novell.

From about 1992 to 2005 I had an old local network of Macs still yaking at each other over phone net (so-called because connectors are standard telephone cables; didn't use Ma Bell) Original computers were Classics from 1990 controlling equipment. Computers (and printer) upgraded a few times; same network. Last upgrade was Beige G3 & the clones. Beige G3s still chugging away today, but switched to ethernet in 2005. Sure phone net was slow but it worked and trivial to setup.

There is no prediction in the post. Just a conjecture

Now, now HerbVic - if all sorts of people can look for and find hidden and twisted meanings in Beatles songs, all of us here at SI can probe your posts along the lines of Nostradamus :-) :-)
