You mean Bryant Park? (next to Library) find bodies in Grant park Completely opposite now. Only muggings now are the hot dog vendors overcharging and/or giving wrong change (kidding aside, they have become really bad in that part of town). But at least its not at gunpoint and the worst that could happen is the guy throws some relish at you. 42nd Street is Disney-fied, but not too badly (in any event, magnitudes better than the ultimate slease that once was...)
