"Don't follow.

You have quite articulately made a presentation that ties the gruesome acts committed by some people and the policies of some cultures to Islam and generalised that to Islam in general and Muslims. You further attempted to draw comparisons to Jimmy Swaggart et all which I find inapplicable.

You continue to use Christianity or acts committed by Christians as some sort of measure. Like, at least this isn't as bad as that measure, sort of like fatty pointing at skinny and saying at least I'm not annorexic. I find that whole thing to be a meaningless bird walk.

"Religiously motivated atrocities on the part of modern Christians are rare,
"

You are wrong, religiously motivated atrocities on the part of human beings are probably at an equal percentage rate per population.

Your type likes to find a head lopping incident and point out we don't do that here. Its true we don't lop heads here, we lynch people in the woods and drag them behind pickup trucks. We drown babies because we heard God's voice, we tell our congregation to drink tainted cool aid but ... we don't lop off the heads of people tried and convicted of crimes because we are better... we fry them with drugs or electricity instead, or we torture them with a life behind bars like caged animals for years and years until they die. None of that means much to me because I figure 98% of you, no matter which stripes you wear, would choose some unjust path to get an advantage over others, whenever you think you can get away with it, and you will justify it by whatever dogma or local authority you can find to support you.

"...though I will point you to Bosnia and Kosovo, a place where the US and others came to the aid of..........Muslims!

"Don't know what the US crime rate, which is indeed high, has to do with anything."

Because it seems you are trying to justify your disdain for Muslims by presenting a case for 'we (USA/Christians) are better than them' on these measures of brutal conduct of individuals and consequences provided by the justice system.

You based it on the brutality of Muslims. So I asked you about Muslims in your community. You ignored that and spoke about the brutality of Muslims elsewhere and how that reflects on Islam. So, I asked you again about the Muslims where you are because I doubt you have any actual experience that would translate to understanding of these other cultures. You ignored that and compared how justice systems punish people in other locations and how that reflects on Muslims in general.

I felt pointing out our brutal crime rates and imprisonment might be a bit more informative that discussions on what Jimmy Swaggart does with his life. But you probably see it differently.

I have to go out now but will check back tomorrow.

Take care,
gem
