I agree. And FWIW, I've posted before that I believe the PRC leadership is way ahead of the US leadership on environmental issues. The PRC is trying to take action (see my previous post on Friendman's "Red and Green"), albeit facing daunting odds, while in comparison the Bush admin has its head in the sand. All that aside, environmental stresses are a global issue that don't respect boundaries. In the coming decades everyone - even nationalist Americans and nationalist Chinese - will come to see that.
